Happy weekend! But more importantly, Happy Balloon Festival Weekend! The sight of 100+ hot air balloons in the sky in the morning still makes me as giddy as an adult as it did when I was a kid, and we’re guessing you all probably feel the same way. And so that said, here’s what we’ll be up to this weekend…

Balloon Festival

No surprise here! We’ll be up before the sun both days and can’t wait to see those hot air balloons take flight as the sun comes up. And who are we kidding, we’ll probably be there for the evening launches, too. Get all the details, including schedule and the all important directions and parking info here.

Breakfast

What’s an early morning wake up call on a weekend without a good brunch? After some obligatory balloon “chasing”, we’ll inevitably wind up out for breakfast. Where to this year? Your guess is as good as ours, but some of our local favorites are Farmstead Flatbread, Morgan and Co, Farmacy, and of course, the Big Balloon Breakfast at the airport (where the proceeds benefit the Open Door Mission)! Where’s your go-to balloon festival weekend breakfast?

Craft Fair

We know it’s all about the balloons, but have you ever visited the craft fair at the Balloon Fest? Zonta holds their fall craft show at the airport during the festival (and not just during the launches - all day!). Grab the details here, and maybe think about arriving early or staying later (and avoiding the traffic!), and browsing the vendors!

Music Festival

And if you’re all Balloon-ed out (or just looking for something to do between launches!), we hear there’s a Live Music Festival up in Bolton Landing on Saturday with everything from swing, to funk, folk, and rock. And, it’s free! Check out the details here.
