Book Expo: Head over to The Shirt Factory this Saturday from 10am-5pm for their Second Annual Book Expo! Home to four unique indie bookstores (Beldame Books, Ghost Books, Little Black Walnut Books and Black Walnut Books), there will be something for everyone, including author panels at Rock Hill Bakehouse throughout the event, as well as story times at Little Black Walnut Books. South High Marathon Dance: It’s Marathon Dance weekend! As a South High alum, I [Bri] can attest that there’s really nothing quite like the energy and emotion in the gym as hundreds of students dance for 28 hours straight for an amazing cause (you can see this year’s recipients here). If you’re so inclined, there’s still time to donate online - here’s the link! Let’s go Bulldogs!

Maple Donut Weekend: March means Maple Season, and Hicks Orchard is celebrating this sweet time of year with their fan favorite Maple Glazed Cider Donuts! You can grab them at their Shirt Factory location if you’re heading there for the Book Expo on Saturday, or if you’re up for a Sunday drive, you can grab them at the Orchard in Granville. Glens Falls Restaurant Week: Hope you’re hungry! Restaurant Week kicks off on Sunday in Glens Falls and runs through Saturday, March 8. Memorial Day Parades: We’re so grateful to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and it’s always wonderful to see all of the events in their honor. Of course, no Memorial Day would be complete without taking in the annual Glens Falls Memorial Day parade, which begins downtown and makes its way down Glen Street at 10am on Monday (grab those details here). And if you’re really in a parade state of mind this weekend, head just over the bridge for the South Glens Falls Parade on Friday night at 6pm, starting at Main and McHugh and running north to Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Rewind at The Park: Head down to The Park Theater on Friday night for Tom Petty tribute band, Damn the Torpedos, performing at 8pm! Northwest Fest: It’s springtime on the slopes at West Mountain! They’re celebrating this Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm with live music and outdoor grilling at the Northwest Base, as well as discounted $40 4-hr lift tickets! Get the scoop here!

Riding in Style: Pop in to The Chapman Museum this weekend to check out their new exhibit, Riding in Style, featuring Seneca Ray Stoddard’s photographs of transportation in the southern Adirondack region at the end of the nineteenth century. All the details are here!

Drop the Gloves with ALS: You may remember Emily Noble from a My Glens Falls feature a few years back. Her husband, Marcus, was diagnosed with ALS in early 2021 at the age of 33. This year marks the second annual Drop the Gloves hockey tournament, which will raise funds for the St. Peter’s ALS Regional Center as well as for Marcus’ care through team registration, raffles and silent auctions, and a GoFundMe page for those not able to attend the event but still wish to make a difference (click here to donate). Games will take place this weekend at the Glens Falls Recreation Center Ice Rink and you can expect live music, food trucks, and beer, of course! Get the details and schedule here!

Easter Egg Hunt: The Kemp Animal Sanctuary at Nettle Meadow Farm in Thurman is hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday from 12-2pm. Kiddos can hunt for colorful eggs filled with treats to feed the animals on the farm (and looks like they’ll have treats for the kids, too!).
