The end of August is sneaking up on us, so let’s soak up the rest of this hometown summer, shall we? Here are a few things that look good this weekend:
The Arts: Lots happening with the arts this weekend! LARAC has two shows opening this Friday: Running Towards A Place, featuring Gary Zack and Christopher Smith, which opens at 5pm at Lapham Gallery, and Oakroom Artists, featuring works by the Oakroom Artists, which opens at 6pm at Mountain Gallery. Fort Fest: Head to Slickfin Brewing Company in Fort Edward this weekend from 12pm - 10pm for - you guessed it - Fort Fest! Bands, beer, food, and memories - need we ask for more? There is more actually! Evergreen Bicycle Works is hosting a slow social bike ride through Downtown Fort Edward and the Champlain Canalway Trail / Empire State Trail at 10am! Sunset Limited: All aboard the Sunset Limited Beer & Wine Train! Hop on a train ride through the Southern Adirondacks in an open air car as the sun dips below the mountains, complete with live music, wine from Fossil Stone Vineyards, beer from Northway Brewing, and drink specials featuring Springbrook Hollow Distilling! Lucky Puppy Open House: Looking to add a pup to your family? Head out to the Lucky Puppy adoption center in Argyle this Sunday from 11am-2pm for their August Open House. Submit your application, pet the adoptable pups, meet your new best friend! Details here.
